Machining process description

Aluminum Extrusion Heatsink

Aluminum extrusion is widely used in heatsink manufacturing. The material used for aluminum extrusion is AL 6063, whose coefficient of thermal conductivity is 200W/mK and nearly matches that of the pure aluminum 236W/mK. Besides good performance, aluminum extrusion also enjoys the advantages of low tooling cost input and better material property for further machining, thus, it is a popular material for low-in products. However, due to the limitation of the extruding mould, aluminum extrusion cannot be made into complicated shapes nor the height and thickness of its fins can be designed freely.
